What are plant based sources of iron?

Can you get your iron from plants? Here are 5 plant based sources of iron, which whether you are vegetarian or not, are fantastic to add to your diet.

1. Legumes

Chickpeas, kidney beans, butter beans and other legumes

2. Some whole grains

Particularly quinoa and oatmeal.

3. Seeds

Look at pepitas, flaxseeds, chia seeds and other seeds

4. Nuts

Peanuts, almonds, cashews and other nuts

5. Leafy greens

Spinach and other dark green leafy vegetables

6. Dark chocolate

Dark chocolate and cocoa powder

7. Dried fruit

Try dates, raisins, dried apricots and other dried fruits.
